About the Monastery

There is a small and new women's monastery located in Baltimore, Maryland in the old rectory building of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church. It is a dependency of Mercy House in New York City. They have been in residence since about the start of the Nativity Fast in 2002.  The monastery observes the Julian reckoning and Holy Trinity Parish has received permission from the bishop to restore the Julian reckoning after about 30 years on the Gregorian calendar. There are currently two monastics in residence.
