Prayer Island is an actual island set aside for prayer located within a private park created and maintained by Rev. Deacon Tikhon Thomas Brandner of St. Catherine Antiochian Orthodox Church, Aiken, SC. Within the park are seven ponds, two frog holes, six streams, numerous islands, sixteen bridges, thousand of trees of over 40 species, six kinds of ferns, and two waterfalls. Fishing is encouraged and no license is needed. All pictures were taken within the park by Rev. Deacon Tikhon Thomas Brandner or Mark Barna of Charleston, SC.

Prayer Island is open Saturdays throughout the year and most days during the summer. A structured walk and written text using icons of the major Church feasts is planned to outline the teachings of Orthodox Christianity. There is camper and tent space, running water, and an outhouse. Cabin use is available for a fortunate few.
