A small guesthouse provides accomodations for two people. Visitors should contact the monastery before arriving.
Located in a rural wooded area about one hour outside of Montreal, Panagia Parigoritissa Monastery was founded through the efforts of Fr. Ephraim of Philotheou (1993). One large building houses the monastic cells, the chapel, gift shop, kitchen and dining room. A cattle shed houses chickens and goats, producing eggs and goat cheese to help support the monastery along with a vegetable garden. The small guesthouse and a petit bridge spanning a small river running through the wooded property enhance the grounds. Services are in Greek. There are nine monastics in residence.
The monastics produce icons, vestments, and cheeses. Of special note are the beautiful icons painted on sea-shells and decorated with dried flowers.
