St. Nektarios Monastery was founded in late 1998 by Archimandrite Ephrem of Philotheou Monastery on Mt. Athos, following the pattern established for Saint Anthony Monastery in Florence, Arizona.
Situated in upstate NY about a 3 hour drive from New York City, the monastery is located on a beautiful and secluded 180-acre property with rolling green hills. There are several buildings on the property which are being renovated.
Currently, there is a guest house, refectory, chapel, and monastic cells. The monks follow the Athonite Typicon. The Abbott, Fr. Joseph is an Athonite hieromonk.
