Male guests are welcome to stay at the Skete for short visits. A guest house for both men and women has recently been completed just across Caņones Creek on the property, about 5 minutes walk from the chapel. Guests are expected to worship with the monks, but otherwise to care for themselves in the guest house. Please note that unaccompanied minors are forbidden being on the grounds at all times.
The monastery is located two miles south of Caņones, 61 miles northwest of Santa Fe.
There is a motel in Abiquiu, about 25 minutes away.
St Michael's Skete was founded in 1993. It is located on a 15 acre strip in the beautiful and rugged Caņon de San Miguel in New Mexico. In addition to the church and the guest house, the facilities consist of a century-old adobe farmhouse, a building with four cells, three monastic cells in a small canyon on the property, and a candlemaking room. Daily services include Vespers, Compline, Matins and the Hours (First, Third, Sixth, and Ninth).
The Skete publishes a quarterly review called DOXA , and produces candles.
