About the Monastery

Exaltation of the Cross Hermitage is an English speaking monastery that was established in 1986 near St. Louis. On May 25, 2000 the monastery relocated to 150 acres of forested hills approximately 25 miles to the south of Huntington, West Virginia. It is under the spiritual direction of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY.

The monastery produces handmade incense and hand-painted icons. There are five monks, one novice and four candidates in residence.
